My Uncle Ron Austin's Art

Ron Austin was raised by Marianne Austin from Hagwilget, B.C. better known as TseKya to the Witsuwet'en people.  He took courses at the Fraser Valley College and concentrated on West coast art.  Below are two examples of the many prints Ron has done.  He is also the master carver of a totem pole that is currently in Japan and the most recent pole erected in Moricetown, B.C.

  1. Thanks for sharing these! Again, an emphasis on local artists shows students that art is important in their community and that they, too, may someday contribute. Would you use these photos to inspire an art lesson or series of linked lessons?

    1. I would have loved to share more of my uncles work as he carved 4 Totem Poles, and all my pictures were at home in Burns Lake, B.C. I am happy you enjoyed this!
